- Deck length: at least 100 cm for comfortable walking, 120 cm+ if you plan to jog.
- Top speed: 6 km/h is fine for walking; go 12–16 km/h for a walk-and-run model.
- Weight capacity: aim for 100 kg+ for daily use, 120 kg+ for shared households.
- Fold height: under 15 cm slides under most beds and sofas.
- Noise: brushless motors are quietest — important for apartments.
- Warranty: minimum 1 year on motor and frame from an authorised UAE dealer.

Compact walking pads in the UAE start from around AED 1,900. Foldable walk-and-run models like the XTERRA TR150 and SOLE CC81 sit in the AED 2,900–4,900 range, while walking treadmill desks such as the SOLE TD80 go up to AED 7,900.
What's the difference between a walking pad and a treadmill?
Walking pads are slim, low-profile treadmills designed mainly for walking (typically up to 6 km/h). They fold flat, fit under furniture, and are much quieter than full-size treadmills — perfect for apartments and home offices.
Can I run on a walking pad?
Pure walking pads top out around 6 km/h — walking speed only. If you want to jog or run, choose a foldable treadmill like the XTERRA TR150 (up to 16 km/h) or the SOLE CC81, which fold nearly as flat as a walking pad but handle running speeds.
Do walking pads work under a standing desk?
Yes — the SOLE TD80 is purpose-built as a walking treadmill desk with a low deck height (about 12 cm) and a top speed tuned for typing while walking. Most compact walking pads also fit under a standing desk.
